DEAR CHRISSY: I've heard rumors that the Peachtree Hills Apartments are under contract - do you know what is going in its place? ~ Danielle, Garden Hills Resident DEAR DANIELLE: You're right, it is under contract, construction will begin in 2006 and its actually going to be the site of the next.... Senior Housing project, Peachtree Hills Place. It will provide assisted living, skilled nursing and special services for residents with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia. Planned amenities include a full-service valet, concierge, dining, a clubhouse and various health and wellness centers. Banking, hair care and groceries are to be available on site. This will be a luxury development and will start accepting reservations in June for residences to be ready for occupancy in 2008. Peachtree Hills Place is to be built on a 23.5 acre site on Peachtree Hills Avenue between the MARTA Lindbergh Station and Peachtree Road. The $150 million project will provide about 240 residences in detached houses and townhouses. Construction is to start in late 2006. The developer is Isakson-Barnhart, which has also built a retirement community in Stone Mountain called Park Springs. Prices at the Buckhead project have not been set.
